I'm going thru this same thing with my Mom and what Pat has posted is working. I also have her taking the IQ Omega and adding organic, unrefined coconut oil to her food (when I can get her to eat). Also have her inhale black pepper and try massaging grapefruit or lavender to her throat and see if that helps with swallowing.
My mom (she is 94) is almost 6 weeks post op and is just now returning more to her old self. I didn't think she ever would but with the oils and omega her dementia is less. Still working on the swallowing and I'll keep you posted if I find something that really stands out. My next oil to try is marjoram.
