I went to a class by Katie Swaim, and she really knows her stuff.  Check out her page <https://www.facebook.com/EssentialOilsForHorses>.  Look at her notes (view the full note) for her emergency Kit for Horses.   Don't think she keeps up with the comments on that page, but you could friend her on Facebook (lives in Roy, WA) and I bet she could answer your questions--she is from a horse family and has been involved with the business since birth.
