Re: [Everything doTERRA] "brain zaps" or "brain shocks"

As for the reactions to taper I learned those when I was part of a group that focused on helping people taper.
As for the mutated DNA I am lazy and rely mostly on the research done by the wonderful doctor I see in Seattle. She gave me a paper which discusses it:
Improving Patient Outcomes Identifying Common Methylation Polymorphisms by Benjamin Lynch, MD. It references a website www.seekinghealth.com which I might add I haven't been to. I also don't use any of their products if they recommend any, I just use doTERRA. I also didn't re-read the study just now to verify it but I remember that the mutation was common in fibro (which I have) and bi-polar (which one of my close friends has).
Most of my research has been on bi-polar vs. schizophrenia although I do have two friends that have children with that condition.
If memory services, searching through the posts on this list should bring up a lot on the topic. I generally cheat and go to google and just search everythingdoterra medical condition.

Hi Gin,
Really? Where is that research??? I'm excited to read something like that! My daughter has schizophrenia and I would love to look into that! I guess I could just google it, but do you have something specific?
Thanks,
Nancy

I would suggest DDR. However, I would suspect that she is decreasing her
RX too quickly. What I've seen, especially in people who've taken them
for years, is that the decrease has to be very slow like a reduction of
a 1/16 of a pill for a week, no symptoms then next week do a similar
reduction. If a reaction go back up to the dose that worked for a week
and then try again with a smaller reduction.
One of the dirty little secrets of antidepressants is that the suicide
warnings they talk about happen frequently when someone forgets to take
a pill for a day or two or are trying to taper off. Its like the brain
becomes dependent and knows what you are trying to do and craves the
chemical and sends signals to get you to take it. It is very common to
have suicidal thoughts while tapering, which is why it is so dangerous
and so many people go back on them. They are very addictive and 'rewire'
how your brain thinks. It sounds really scary but I think its better to
know that it can happen and if it does you recognize what it is and that
you aren't going crazy.
There is a lot of exciting research about mutated DNA and depression and
other mental health issues.
