doTERRA doesn't charge tax on shipping because they are "allowed" to,
it's an IRS requirement for non-LRP orders so the have to do that. The
little box you check on LRP orders indicating they are for your own
personal use is the reason it tax is not charged on shipping for
those.
Initially, sales tax was also charged on ALL shipping but by going
through tax regulations state by state by state, Mark Wolfert,
doTERRA's legal counsel, was able to change it to the way it is now.
In states with high sales tax rates, it makes even more sense to
create another LRP when one wants to make more than one order in any
one month. Just remember to cancel the extra one(s) before it's set to
ship the next month.
