[Everything doTERRA] Re: Mixing or applying layers of oils for sleep blend

I have tried serenity with balance, vetiver, and lavender on my husband that has been using sleeping pills for years. Trazodone it is really an anxeity pill used for sleeping. I gave him 5 drops of clary sage last night in a capsule and he said it worked ok but not like the pill. He has been off the pills for a week. I was tempted to put every oil that was listed for insomnia in the Modern essential oil book in a roller ball but I do not know what oils mix and the percentages to mix them.

Janic,

Not a goofy question at all.  Very, very good question.

And I'm anxious to hear how some of our resident experts reply because I'm concerned about blending oils.  I read in the Modern Essentials book that if we don't mix in the right order, we can change the chemical properties, so I have become rather hesitant to premix the oils.  Also, when I premixed Deep Blue with FCO, it seemed to significantly reduce the effects of the oil.  I am favoring layering at this point, due to lack of blending experience and fear of wasting my precious oils on ineffective homemade blends.  But, I am anxious to hear some expert advice, as I am fairly new, too!

Really glad to hear you had good results with OnGuard (one of my most favs) and oregano!  Good for you!  I love these oils!  They're like magic!  And you are in the right place to gain guidance and education!  This group is fabulous!!
