[Everything doTERRA] Re: Acne

First I'd check into the side-effects of any medications your grandson may be on - acne could be one of them, so you may be fighting more than just teen-age acne.

Since you want minimal change to his routine try replacing the OTC product with a Juniper Berry/carrier oil blend.  Some of the properties of Juniper Berry are: Antiseptic / Astringent / Cleaner / Detoxifier

My recommendation would be to put it in a roller bottle then you can roll it directly onto his face (then use your hands to gently spread it and massage it in) or onto your hand first, either way he prefers.  Perhaps he'd enjoy rolling it onto his face himself then letting you massage it in - there's nothing like a Grandmother's loving touch. Who knows, he may actually enjoy the fragrance of Juniper Berry.

Here are the proportions I'd recommend:

1oz roller bottle

Drops

Oil

40-50

Juniper Berry

Top off

FCO

10ml roller bottle

Drops

Oil

15-20

Juniper Berry

Top off

FCO

I'm just now learning about DDR Prime but if what I'm reading is correct it may be a good addition to the juniper berry blend. 10-15 drops in the 1oz or 4-5 drops in the 10ml.  Because I'm unsure about how to use the DDR Prime you may want to put the question to Pat (here on the forum).

I have been reading a lot of posts regarding acne, but want to ask again. My 17 year old grandson has special needs and does not tolerate too many changes in his routine. His acne is horrible. His parents use some OTC medicine that htey wipe on and leave on. He is unable to swallow pills. When I was there last time I put frank on his face and to me it seemed as if it was helping a little. I will be going there next week and would like to offer them something that is not to involved because he is not too patient. He eats fairly clean. Thanks, Sz
