My husband has had a dry patch of skin above his lip for the last two months, about where cold sores come up. He has tried his cold sore oils remedy (can't remember what it is as he has developed it himself...), and all that does is dry it out further. he has also tried lavender, frankincense and helichrysium individually and layered. He is putting our lip slave or a natural paw paw cream over the top of the oils, and when it bothers him (most of the time). He has been using both for at least a year so it isn't a reaction to that.
About three weeks ago his lip swelled up (only on the side that bothers him) over night. I gave him the allergy shot which worked very quickly, but hasn't made any difference to the dryness.
The skin is flaking off sometimes. Occasionally it will crack, enough that it hurts, but not enough to bleed.
It doesn't hurt, but he is aware that it doesn't feel right. I can't see very much of a difference between the two sides.
He takes half a dose of the LLV half the time (we're working on that!), but that hasn't changed anything, either from before he was taking it, to the sporadic taking to the full time taking.
He drinks lemon in his water all of the time, is fit and active, and hasn't changed any of his skincare products or diet.
I am out of ideas and so looking for anything else we can try. I have most of the oils and range.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
