Re: [Everything doTERRA] Staph infection

Rex, I've had Staph - definitely not fun, and I understand your concern.  The oil in the bottles should be fine, but make sure you wipe down the outsides and cap thoroughly.  Don't use heat, but perhaps rubbing alcohol just to wipe it down.  That should kill any staph bacteria that may have gotten on the outside.

Hope it helps,
-Nye

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Fireworks and the Dogs

Hahaha, my dog loves fireworks!  He screams like a girl while they are going off and he jumps around in the sparks.  He waits very impatiently until  another one goes off.  He's so happy!  He's never gotten burned, but loves being in the middle of things!

not an oil solution but pet stores now all carry "thundershirts" which are supposed to work; haven't tried it yet but I think I will; supposedly they are tight and so hug the dog tightly to calm him down...

[Everything doTERRA] Re: I'm so sad and disappointed!!!

Im so sorry!!!! I too feel that they should just replace it if it is
not working, that would be great customer service. It suprises me that
they dont do that because they seem to strive for great customer
service. I love doterra oils and have loved being apart of something
great BUT there are a few things that I wish would change and I hope
they will see that they can improve on a few things. For me it is
financially a sacrifice to purchase from Doterra but I do it because I
find value in the products so I would hope they would understand that.
I know I am getting quality in return but in your case where you are
not then it should be made right regardless. The diffuser is not cheap
and you paid for it so it should work properly and thats all there is
to it. I am sorry you are dealing with that!!!! Good Luck! xoxo

[Everything doTERRA] Re: titanium possible allergy

Thanks Pat. I thought the same thing. About the titanium still being
in there so not sure about cilantro or allergy mix. Anything you find
out would be a blessing!! Poor thing. You should see her. She is so
miserable and this has been years. Thanks.

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Psychiatrist Quote

Stella , God bless you and thank you for sharing your story. I needed to hear a story of continuing hope with getting off of psychiatric drugs. My son has schizoeffective disorder and he is in and out of the hospital regularly dealing with primarily the voices he hears. I got him some frankincense and balance but it's getting him on a regular schedule that is the problem , but I'm working with the people at his transitional living facility now to see if they will make sure he uses the oils and whatever else I can slowly buy for him.

Again thank you and I wish you continued blessings and healing!!

Prescription protocol on 4/4/2012

Lamictal 200mg daily
Cymbalta 120 mg daily
Abilify 15 mg daily
Wellbutrin XL150 mg daily
Naltrexone 100 mg daily

4/9/2012 A final gambling relapse
I discussed with the psych that I believed (not blaming--but as a contributing factor) that the way the anti-depressants disengaged my "give-a-$**tter" contributed to the nonchalant attitude with which I gambled away money. She told me she had just read an article the night before about how the reason anti-depressant's "worked so well" was because they caused people basically to "just not care".

4/20/2012 intro doTERRA--Began a 2-week step down on all meds except the Lamictal. Weaned off the lamictal over a course of a month (tried to go off it too quickly and the side-effects were frightening).

Began with Bergamot

5/5/2012
LLV, Elevation, Balance & Eucalyptus. Still cling to the elevation and balance at moments.

5/23/12 Zyto Scan results may have been skewed as I had just sampled some serenity. Results called for Myrrh, White Fir & Citrus Bliss. Received samples of each to tide me over until next order--sparingly.

6/2/2012
Citrus Bliss
Frankincense
Peppermint
White Fir
Myrrh
Wild Orange
Lavender

Deep Blue
Helichrysum
Geranium
Got my first lotus diffuser

I've sampled a bit of my product, but must say I've used more of the wild orange and lavender--I'm almost out of them. Although it has only been a short while, I think the geranium is very special.

I know this leg of my journey through life is only beginning. I have been on and off medications for 18 years. Something truly is different today though. I haven't figured out how I will continue to invest raw dollars in my health and wellness; but I know I can continue to invest my energy and time into healing; and I trust that as I share my passion with others my every need will be met. I'm still here. drug-free. God has a purpose and passion for me, and I do believe God is at the center of ALL healing, and the nature of my prayer life intersecting with life situations at the moment I made the decision to "do doTERRA" leads me to believe this is divinely inspired.

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Young Living Lawsuit

I do agree, Daniel, that using the YL phrase "certified therapeutic grade" and just adding the word "pure" leaves some people wondering if both companies are trying to "snow" people with words. Instead of setting doTERRA apart from YL, as I believe was the intention, to many it seems to just prove commonality.  I know it's not up to us to tell doTERRA how to run their business. But I do agree that it would be easier for us, as reps, if the terms they used made it more clear that this is a trademarked term describing internal company standards and not a certification from some federal agency or professional organization. I am deeply disappointed that many in the essential oil community use this term to make negative comments against doTERRA. I also believe that doTERRA's choice of wording left them more open to such attacks. I also believe that it would be very helpful for doTERRA in this lawsuit if they had more support from the EO community in general.

Although doTERRA are trying to emphasise their high quality oils and the fact that they are proud of their achievement/standard, it is indeed misleading to claim that 'our oils are certified pure therapeutic grade'. Especially when some IPCs boast 'our oils are the only oils with CPTG'.

Even Robert Pappas has expressed his disatisfaction with the doTERRA's use of terms such as CPTG:

"CPTG" is just doterra saying their oils are therapuetic grade and pure to their standards.  Its not like anyone elses oils could be called CPTG. Its a little misleading.

[Everything doTERRA] Re: Psychiatrist Quote

She was working within the parameters that had already been defined from the Dr. I transferred from; and was trying to minimize acute symptoms; she had previously recommended a healthstore item also. I can't wait to see her again in 3 months and update her on the results I am getting with doTERRA--I think it was still too new for her curiosity to be peaked. Who knows what her response will be. Anti-depressants are the standard protocol for my diagnosis and Drs. do have to be concerned with liability matters. She was very clear in communicating that many Drs. would "term" a patient for going off prescribed meds and directly reminded me that I AM RESPONSIBLE for monitoring my emotional health.

idea what this answer might be.  Is there an answer?  THANK YOU!

[Everything doTERRA] Re: Psychiatrist Quote

Some of you asked how I did it--this may be more than you bargained for but I certainly wouldn't want to let you down.

Unresolved grief has been huge in my life. Rape. PTSD. Major Depressive Disorder. Drug & Alcohol Addiction. Promiscuous behavior. A path of recovery.  Hoarding (not EXTREME but there). Abusive Marriage. Severely medically challenged children. Relapse into drug addiction again after prescriptions following a car wreck. Massive quantities of opiates--could've killed many a horse. Gambling Addiction. Suicide attempts. Coma. Divorce. Workaholic. Diagnosed Bipolar. Recovery from drugs, alcohol, and gambling. More death and unresolved grief. Son's suicide (at which time I went back on psychotropic medication/not narcotics as Dr. prescribed)--indescribable grief--still severe. Relapse into gambling addiction. All interspersed with psychiatric hospitalizations. Codependency. Then doTERRA.

Peppermint
White Fir
Myrrh
Wild Orange
Lavender

6/16/2012
Deep Blue
Helichrysum

I hesitated to open up to this group with such brutal honesty. But I am an open book, and my secrets could kill me. I know at my core that I am in this for the long haul.

Since starting doTERRA I have completed training and received certification in suicide prevention training--a huge emotional milestone for me--traveling to the training my car cracked a head and I have been without transportation. But God sent an angel navy petty officer who drove me the rest of the way to the training. I am parenting an extremely high risk suicidal 18 year old son, and am "Momma Stella" to many a wayward youth. I am walking through severe consequences as a result of my compulsive gambling and my maybe not too wise decision to become vulnerable in a romantic relationship has yielded yet another broken heart--just today. Any of these situations alone could have previously seemed more than I could bear for a day, and sent me into a dreary doomsday experience. I won't say there is no pain today, but it is not unfathomable. I have a solid lining of hope that surrounds all that I am. I have not always been able to make that statement in truth.

I am ready for the adventure.

RE: [Everything doTERRA] mule-ruptured intestine

Wow that is a hard one.  Maybe he could try rubbing castor oil on the area, with Helichrysum, to help with repair?  I am not a vet, nor do I know much about mules (jackasses, yes  :p), but I would imagine the mule may need surgery.  In which case, the above may still help speed up healing.

Re: [Everything doTERRA] I'm so sad and disappointed!!!

OH,NOOOOOO!!!  I am so nervous now.  I just sent back my diffuser (I only had it for 4 days before it stopped working) I also saved up for it, b/c it was so pricey.  I did buy delivery confirmation and I hope they will fix the problem.  I do not know if it was received yet, I am going to call on Mon.  I really hope that DoTerra will do something to help you.
I will keep you updated on my diffuser situation.

So, I sent it back.  I got permission via email and a phone call to send it to the Lotus Repair department.  I printed off all the emails back and forth trying to trouble-shoot and my instructions for return, made a copy of my receipt, and paid more than $14 to have it shipped back to Utah.

I've been hoping for a new replacement, or in the least a repair (sorry, it bugs me to have a new item repaired--I think I should get a new one, but that's just the OCPD in me).  Since it was already so expensive to purchase and to ship here, and then I was paying more than $14 to ship it back, I chose not to get insurance or delivery confirmation (yes, I see how backwards this thinking is now, but money is so tight, and hindsight is always 20/20).  The Lotus was scheduled to arrive a week ago yesterday.

I emailed consultant services today and just got a reply--they have NOT received my Lotus.  It's gone.  It's lost in the mail.  I have no proof I sent it besides my receipt from the post office, and that gets you nowhere without insurance. And stupid me didn't buy insurance, so I'm out the $100+ for the Lotus and the shipping.  I simply cannot afford to buy another one, nor am I sure I really want to after this experience and not feel confident it would be worth the money and work properly.

I'm so very sad about this whole thing.

I suppose it's possible that it will be found and still arrive and maybe get fixed and returned to me, but I paid for expedited shipping so it would arrive before the 90 days was up, so there's absolutely no reason it wouldn't be there by now, and now I'll be charged for the repairs because it's past 90 days.  It was almost two weeks ago I sent it off.

I think this is all so unfair--if the Lotus had been working properly in the beginning, none of this would have happened.  It's not my fault a $120 piece of equipment didn't work and now I'm out all that money and have no good diffuser to use!

I just want to cry!!!  Elevation isn't going to fix this one!  (not that I have a Lotus to diffuse it anyway!)

[Everything doTERRA] Re: Lavender as endocrine/androgen disruptor?

Hi,
I posted before on this subject. I too was concerned having had a son
who experienced gyno
mastia, which I understood was caused from to much estrogen. Gyno
mastia is enlargment of the breast tissue and is a very serious
medical and emotional issue. Years ago I found out that lavender was
considered a big culprit. Lavender is a hidden ingredient in
deodorants, aftershave lotion, shaving creams etc.
I did some more research and found out that most of the "lavender"
used in personal care products is either a synthetic lavender or
lavendin. It is my personal belief that the synthetic essential oils
may be the main culprit in disrupting hormone balance. I wish the
companies making these products would use at least a food grade
lavender.
When I came to doTerra I was concerned about sharing Lavender with the
males in my family and customer base, especially before I began to
trust the purity of these oils.
I can honestly tell you that none of the males of any age in my
family or customer base has reported any problems with the lavender,
but I think that it is an honest, insightful question for people to be
asking.
I also think that males should be far more concerned with soy
products. Check out those sport drinks!
Hope this helps
Julie

Re: [Everything doTERRA] new to doTERRA

Welcome to our wonderful family!  Here are a few answers that I can help you with.
1)  Not sure why it is called a protocol, it just is, lol.  I suppose if it were a "routine" people would feel less inclined to follow it, or to make changes willy nilly.
2)  All of the citrus oils break down plastic and styrofoam, and you end up swallowing it and getting it into your system.  When your body takes on these petrochemicals, your body tries to protect you from the toxins by encapsulating these particles in fat and storing it. Bad stuff.  The citrus oils help your body purge itself of these toxins which enables you to lose weight as well.  Slim & Sassy is the best product for helping your body to do that.
3) a. I made a batch of mini-cupcakes and frosted them with vanilla frosting that I added tangerine oil to. YUM.
    b. Go to www.builddoterra.com and click on the Education tab.  Dr. Susan Lawton has a weekly call on a different oil each Wednesday.  The oils are listed alphabetically, but I noticed today that Tangerine is at the top.  If you click on the red link, you can print out the information.  (I just completed my book of oils today, in which I printed out each oil and filed them in a 4" 3 ring binder with Alpha tabs as dividers.  I have been printing them out for the last year, and she finished the final oil this past week.  Not sure what she will do now that all of them are covered, lol.
 4) Someone else will have to answer this one, I missed that information.

Subject: [Everything doTERRA] new to doTERRA

I have a few questions. First of all I really like the doTERRA oils. Just got my first order and dh said I got a new toy, that's the quietest I've been in a while! Hahaha  Why do some of you call it "protocol" instead of say a "routine"? Why is it recommended for the oils to be put in water that's either in glass or stainless steel? Can we not put them in a plastic glass? I have already copied some of the recipes that have been posted for the summer sensation oils, but does anyone have anymore ideas for them to be used separately? I like to read about them but they're not in the Modern Essentials book. I would especially like some good uses and info on the tangerine. It smells soooo good!
Don't remember who originally posted about the e-book on your love life and eo's but I definitely am interested in that one! Please keep me posted.
Thanks
