Banu-
My son JT is 7 mons. He's been eating solids since about 5 1/2 months. My MD recommended starting with rice cereal once a day for about 2 weeks and then add veggie at a time from there. He of course still gets his "milk". At this age he was showing a definate interest in what we were eating. To the point we were both letting have tastes of whatever was on his plate.
Fast forward to 7 months. JT gets his bottle on demand and he eats 3 solid meals a day. I make his food, freeze it into portions and then wave it a meal at a time. He eats a wide variety of fruits, veggies, meats and grains. And he loves food.
I hope this helps. Do what I did. Talk to your doctor.
Amy

Hi Banu,
I'll try to give my own baby breastfeeding completely six months before her first meal. But if you decided to start giving your son solid food, I think you should try with milk porridge made form white/ red rice or soy flour mixed and boiled with instant baby's formula (milk). Or you can buy some instant baby first meal on the store.
If there aren't stomach disorders such as diarrhea, one or two months later you can try giving him sweet ripe fruit puree or juice for example ripe banana puree.
This maybe helpful information for you, hope your baby get a happy and healthy first meal.
Have a nice day,
Dian

~~Terri S. Is ther any testing group that rells you the best one. and it isn't the most expensive. I just saw it on tv. Consumer Reports? Most important is to take it to police and have them install it for free and correctly. My son was large too and I bought his everything extra large. he wore those jogging suits for 2 yrs. just rolled em up. I believe he actually enjoyed the extra non confining room..
~ the 5 point restrain was not in use then, but that is the recommended type.thank you . hello and happy new year. 2010!! Karen from Louisiana son is 20. Didn't kill him!

Congratulations, Lindsey
I am so glad you shared your story with us. For me that is really encouraging because I have a five year old child diagnosed with developmental delays. And we are starting ABA services to help figure out the best way he learns, so we can progress.
Thanks for sharing
Cozette

I would definitely love the granola recipe. I am always looking for healthy recipes and I too love Quaker Oats and granola.
