Has anyone used essential oils to heal a skin infection?  I have applied Melaleuca and Lavender directly on the area on my dogs back.  He seemed to like it.  His skin is very irritated and itchy.  I know if I take him to the vet they will give him a steroid and antibiotic and I would rather use essential oils on him to heal him.  I also added a drop of lemon to his water as I read another post under pet care that said it helped to heal their dogs bumps from an infection.

I would love any recommendation to heal my four legged family member.
