Actually, melaleuca shouldn't be used on dogs, and especially not on cats. I have attached the dog care sheet (AromaTools.com) that lists oils ok to use on dogs.
Looking through Kristen Leigh Bell's book, Aromatherapy for Animals book, I added some things to our tick blend: We now use purify, terrashield, geranium, grapefruit, lavender, and myrrh, plus water to fill an 8-ounce glass spray bottle.
