In my experience, yes they all do damage plastic. I have the doTERRA travel size bottles that you refill. There are little tiny ones that I put the on guard toothpaste in. After a week of them being in there, and I had used the toothpaste up in that time, the container then has rough finish on the inside. The plastic had started breaking down and wasn't smooth anymore. I also had a dropper in my bottle of myrrh and in traveling it didn't stay upright. Within 3 days the dropper handle had started to deteriorate.
