[Everything doTERRA] Re: Kosher Oils

Being certified Kosher is done by rabbinical supervision.
2 of the best organizations that do this are:
The Orthodox Union (OU) - http://www.oukosher.org
and
OK Kosher - http://www.ok.org
Our CPTG standard meets the criteria of proving purity and that there
are no bugs or insects in the process that could render the oils as
non-kosher (GC/MS shows this) but it does not show that the equipment
used has not been used with any non kosher items at other times.
Please keep in mind that some capsules and fillers do come from a pig
source . . .
and part of the process certifies that nothing non kosher comes in
contact with the product during any part of the processing.
When I called the home office, I had to explain to them what kosher
meant
and they are not in the process of obtaining certification.
If we all email them about this (and possibly suggest the 2 websites
mentioned above - especially the oukosher.org site) they might
consider obtaining the certification to open up our product line to
the Orthodox Jewish community. Many orthodox Jews will not use any
products that are not certified kosher. This is more important for
products that can be used internally. This could make us the first
essential oil company that makes the effort to obtain this
certification.
For me, I see these as my medicine and use them with my (acupuncture &
massage therapy) patients and will use them personally for this
reason, but have many friends who will not.
Explain the purity that is proven by the CPTG standard which can be
proof that nothing non-kosher is in the oils and that it is common for
medicinal items to be used by the Orthodox Jewish community without
the certification added to it. If you have questions, please contact
me.
