Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: TSA in Salt Lake City

Yes, and I should clarify that the same trip I was traveling on with my friend, I had my small 5ml bottle of my peppermint (can't NOT have it on me because it's the only thing that helps with headaches) and I had no problems.  Go figure.  All the rest of mine I checked in my luggage though and would strongly suggest to do the same!!

May I just remind everyone.....a lot of these TSA folks are wanna be's.   Cops, FBI, Interrogators, CIA, etc.... VERY few that I have come into contact with have a sweet, nice, pleasing wanting to help make your life move smoothly attitude.   SOOOOO....to make your life smooth and easy....like previous posts have stated....put them in your luggage and check them in.   Sure is easier than having them confiscated and having to buy more.   Just my 5 cents worth.  ps...the only ones I will have in my purse are the Serenity, On Guard and Breathe. I have never had a problem traveling with them.      Julie Ann

I recently traveled with my friend out of the SLC airport.  I had checked my oils in my luggage.  But she took her through security.  She had them in the appropriate sizes (her 5 and 15ml bottles) in a clear 1 qt. ziploc bag.  But security was a NIGHTMARE for her!!  We were actually traveling in a group of over 30 people.  When they asked her if she was traveling with anyone, she (luckily!) only said her husband.  They said they would have to search everyone that she was traveling with.  Luckily, she didn't tell them the REST of our group, or we would have been there for two hours!  They searched my friend and her husband - patted them down, searched every single one of their bags and then did the bomb test thing on every single one of her bottles of oils.  It took over 20 minutes.  Good thing we were early for our flight!  They put up a REAL stink about it and ALMOST confiscated every single oil she had!  It was super obnoxious!

Anyway - just want to give people a heads up that it's not ALWAYS going to be easy to travel with your oils.  I say just check them in your luggage instead of trying to take them through security!  Mine still work just fine!
