Are you sure it's a bone spur and not a splinter of tooth, broken off when they were pulling your teeth. I guess, I'm asking if uour dentist told you it was a bone spur. My mom had a number of these. They were very painful. She pulled them out of her gum as they came to the surface but it took months for them all to surface.
