Jaclyn, lots of good advice here. One consideration is to try virgin coconut oil, about 2 teaspoons/day based on his size. At the same time I would give only 4 fish oil capsules. Perhaps he has a yeast infection? If so, the caprylic acid in the coconut oil will support healthy skin. My dog begs for coconut oil every time I get it out for cooking. He loves it! Good luck, and please let us know how he is doing in a few weeks.

I have a Great Dane/Lab mix (80 lbs) that is constantly itchy. He's itchy on his body and his ears; it's not unbearable for him but I just want to help him if I can. I have him on an all natural grain free dog food so I know it's not the food he's eating. Trust me, I tried out 6 different all natural grain free foods before I stuck with the food he's on now (both different flavors and brands), and I also did lots of research on the 'food energetics chart' for dogs to see exactly where he landed...so his food I have under control. I also give him 8 fish oil pills a day, and I make sure only to use certain brands of fish oil that state exactly where they get their fish from.I'm not sure if he has seasonal allergies or not. He does not have a rash or anything like that, and it's not concentrated in one area, it's his whole body that's itchy. His hair gets these small white flakes after you scratch him, like dandruff (he almost looks dusty). Also, his ears do not have any type of infection in them, I check constantly, they are simply just itchy. I also just had him at the vet and the vet said his ears looked great too, so again no infection just itchy.I am looking for EO's to use to help take the extra itchy edge off for him. Any suggestions? Also, is it ok if I give him the triease daily in his food? Thanks for your help!
