[Everything doTERRA] Re: Alzheimer's

Here is a link to my reply on a thread on dementia: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/Everythingessential/bYJumdjCMWU

Here's the content of my reply. I just did a copy/paste so it reads as a response to a specific person:

Frankincense is always a great place to start.  If you can get your grandmother to do it try putting a drop of frankincense on her thumb then have her hold that thumb to the roof of her mouth with lips closed (it will look like she's sucking her thumb) for 30 seconds.  The taste isn't wonderful but neither is it horrible and the benefits can be incredible.  If you spend a couple hours with her each visit I'd make this the first thing you do and then repeat it just before you leave.  One thing I've noticed when I use frank that way is that my mouth tends to get dry, but that may just be me.  It's not really a bad thing if it encourages your g'mother to drink water.

If your g'mother won't put the frank in her mouth then I'd be certain to put a drop on the nape of her neck, perhaps one on top of  her head, a couple drops along her spine, and of course, a drop on the pad of each big toe.

If your g'mother doesn't have swallowing issues the LifeLong Vitality (LLV) supplements are very important and I'd probably include DDR Prime gels (they're 10% off this month).

I have a friend whose husband's dementia had gotten to the point that he didn't even know her name and she gave him the LLV (worked up to a full dose which is 2 from each of the three bottles twice a day) and did the frankincense on the thumb/roof of the mouth as often as she could get him to throughout the day.  Within two weeks he called her name.  Will your g'mother have the same results? that quickly? I don't know but at least there is hope. Frankincense breaks through the blood-brain barrier so it gets to where it needs to be.

Cypress is great for circulation and that may be beneficial for the vascular dementia.

Layer a drop of Serenity and a drop of Balance on her big toes for calming and grounding.

If you're financially limited this is how I'd prioritize these oils/supplements:

  1. Frankincense (this oil is AMAZING!)
  2. LLV
  3. DDR Prime gels
  4. Serenity Blend and Balance Blend
One other thing that I've heard recently - I just watched ALIVE INSIDE on Netflix, which I recommend this very highly. This tells about the power of music in those dealing with dementia/Alzheimers.   Here's a link to a 6-minute portion of the movie I found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HLEr-zP3fc

Watch this video and search ALIVE INSIDE

Any success stories and protocols on using the oils for Alzheimer's/dementia?
