One thing you all have to keep in mind, these articles are not written about doterra oils. There is a big difference! We are the only company in the world that certifies the purity of our oils. So that being said, continue your research, but keep in mind, we have set the standards higher than everyone else. Therefore, what the articles are saying about not using on kids, use with caution. Dilute, and use small amounts. Only put on the bottom of the feet. In the ME book it says that most of the oils should not be used on children under 6 years old, however, we use them on babies all the time. We being the doterra family's. I used oils on my grandson since he was born. Any other oil company, yes, I would be very cautious. Doterra has set my mind at ease. Just follow your heart and your gut, look to your creator, pray and seek His wisdom and advice. You will find the answers.

Subject: [Everything doTERRA] Re: KSL news article "Essential oils: good or bad?"I had a comment all ready to post, then I read someone else's comment about tansy oil being bad for kids. I started poking around, and sure enough, tansy--blue or otherwise--seems to be shied away from for all tansy oils. Yet we use this in Balance and Deep Blue. I've used these on my kids--especially Balance.
I know for a fact that Balance helps my daughters stay grounded (not in the "GO TO YOUR ROOM!" sense of the word ...). What I *don't* know is if it's having any ill effects. To that end, I want to do more research. That research involves writing Dr. Hill directly and hopefully getting a response. However, that also involves finding out what the effects of tansy oil are on children. All the MSDS info I've found says "Do not use on children." It doesn't say WHY I shouldn't use it on children.
In short, I want answers!
But more to the point of the article, I agree--very poorly written, and it's obvious that the writer had a slant. I'm not at all impressed with the article at all.

I personally think the article made some good points, but I am not so sure this article shed a good light on essential oils. I noticed that there were only 4 pros, and 7 cons, and so I don't think they weren't very balanced with their pros and cons. I also don't agree with some of their cons, where they make it sound like oils can be toxic to the body; which, I think can be quite the opposite. Maybe other essential oils can be toxic, but I have found nothing toxic about highly purified oils such as Doterra oils. I also noticed that the author is a Nurse; which, made me realize why this article was not very accurate in its view of oils, and seemed to favor modern medicine. If you have time, you also might find some of the comments interesting. I could go on and on about this article, but first I wanted to hear what you had to say about it.
Thanks,
Kent
