So today I took some oils over to a friend who is recovering from having bone spur & bunion surgery. She's a first time doTERRA user though she does use an off-brand Lavender and Melalueca at times. I started with Lemon oil to try and get the Sharpie off her foot, left from her surgeon from over three weeks ago. Unfortunately, the Lemon didn't make a mark on the Sharpie :{

Next I applied Lemongrass to the entire foot, then Cypress then Frankincense. She then re-wrapped her foot and applied gentle heat. Within about 10 minutes or so, she said she could taste the oils in her mouth. She initially described it as nasty/gross then awhile later said it didn't necessarily taste like oils, just something toxic.

Can someone explain to me what the taste could have been? I was thinking it was possibly the Lemon pulling toxins from her liver since I know she's been on narcotics for pain, but I've never really experienced such a reaction to my own usage. Some insight is appreciated since I am hoping to get her enrolled in the next few days but not having an educated explanation could prove damaging to my success. 

I did leave her with samples and I don't want the nasty taste to deter her from using the samples, eek!!
