Water exasperates the oil and it will effect your taste for a period of time. I however, do the oil pull daily with fractionated coconut oil, 2 drops or oregano and 2 of clove. I have never had any problems with loss of taste or burning. The coconut oil protects while the oils clean and purify my mouth.
