Thank you for sharing your story Amy! We just went to the vet yesterday with our little dog, Roxy, and the vet put her on some OTC glucosamine/chondroitin but it makes her sick. I was just looking on here for help with her. I put some Frankincense on her this morning and she is sleeping so I don't know how it worked yet. My question for you is, do you rub the oils over the fur or do you go down to the skin?--

A few months ago my husband and I started having the dreaded horrible conversations of is it time to put our wonderful dog "to sleep". She was in so much pain. She had been taking arthritis medication for some time, but as many medications do over time her organs couldn't take it anymore, they were shutting down. We had no choice but to take her off the medications, they were killing her. She had stopped eating and was vomiting often. She pulled thru the sickness and began eating again. But then she was in so much pain she cried just walking across the room the vet said there was nothing else we could give her. You could barely pet her and if you touched the wrong spot she would snap at you because it hurt her so bad. We were really worried she was going to hurt one of the kids that she so dearly loved and protects….not because she was mean, just because she was hurting so badly. I had just recently been introduced to doterra, not wanting to lose my best friend I grabbed my new box of oils and put deep blue with coconut oil on her back and legs. She immediately licked every last drop left on my hands. I did this twice a day for a week. She slowly stopped crying when she walked, she started wanting to be pet again. She jumped up on the couch in a week and within 2 weeks she was running and playing with the other dog in the backyard. I backed off and found she needed about 2-3 times a week over the next month. Then slowly we backed her off to putting that oil on her once a week. Now she has her own bottle of oil labeled "Sadie's Pain Oil" and when she wants it on she goes to the place on my dresser where that oil sits and she whines and waits for somebody to come in and put it on her.
Our Sadie also LOVES people food and has a bad habit of clearing the table any chance she gets. This causes some pretty stinky flatulence that can clear the entire family out of any room! So our Sadie also has a bottle of digestzen mixed with coconut oil. When she wants this oil she will lie at my feet and roll over to show me her belly. I can scratch her and tell her good dog and walk away. She will follow me thru the entire house rolling on her back every chance she can and she will not stop till you put her tummy oil on her. She promptly licks every drop left on my hands and goes to licking her tummy. She must know this is the best way to prevent being evicted to the backyard after enjoying a forbidden snack!Amy Kilber
