[Everything doTERRA] Contraindication using methyl salicylate containing oils concurrent with NSAIDs

Is there a contraindication using an oil such as Wintergreen, that contains a high level of methyl salicylate, the primary ingredient in aspirin, along with the use of Advil or Aleve?  Thanks in advance!!

He should be just fine!!

Anyway I had just given him a mini aroma touch and didnt want to soap him down to get the deep blue off.  I dont use deep blue on him usually.  he was really mad about the oil being taken away and then being held while I put the cocnut oil on him.   He did not react to this amount and I did put alot of coconut oil on him afterward.  He fell asleep at bedtime, but I am worried of any other type of reaction he could have.

Is this amount dangerous?  Should I wake him and get it off?

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Rosacia?

I would concur with her doctor, he would certainly know the difference. I would suggest she do the LLV and DDR Prime, this is a great beginning to wellness. I would also suggest she start the Terrazyme and take 6-8 per day. We are trying to regulate the natural nutrition needed to cleanse her body.

Just a suggestion,
Pat

Pat, she says she was diagnosed with Rosacia by a doctor.

She does not use Niacin, etc.

I didn't know that Rosacia would be triggered somehow, I thought it was just redness on the facial skin.  I also didn't realize that it would go down the body like this and have the other immediate symptoms.

Thank you for any help with this.

Hello all.

I have a new customer who is describing the following:

She has been told she has Rosacia on her face, neck, chest, and on the back around the shoulders.  So basically the face and all the way down the top of the body.  It will come on suddenly, is very painful, stings and then after appx 15 minutes, the pain stops but it stays red.  She feels the sting before the redness.  She has no other medical conditions.  She eats very holistically.  She does colonics which will trigger the flair up.  She is gluten intolerant and has been off gluten for 2 years.

Do you think this is actually Rosacia?  What are your comments and suggestions?  All help appreciated.

Thank you,

Its actually isoflaven, but because it is a derivative they make you put soy. It is not GMO and is safe.

[Everything doTERRA] Olfactory affects on Learning & Memory recall School Assignment

I'm enrolled in a Learning & Behavior class. I'm doing a presentation on the affects of the Olfactory system on memory. Can anyone point me in the direction of solid scientific research? I can use a bit of direct-observation research, and may use the Vanderbilt clip to show how olfactory affects the emotions, thereby influences the environment to make it conducive to learning. For a long time, I've known from firsthand experience how certain smells trigger memories. I've read where similar topics were discussed on this forum and am hoping someone can point me to quantitative research to support the theory. I'll also use some qualitative testimonial in my presentation.

Thanks,
Stella

[Everything doTERRA] Re: How do you reach the disk in the lotus diffuser?

UPDATE: I successfully replaced the ceramic disc. I had some complications, including crimping a wire in half that I then had to splice.
Here is what worked:

1.Remove two screws from back of the "bulb" bottom of the unit.
2. Remove screw from the little recessed area above the reservoir on the interior of the unit. (I could not successfully replace this screw)
3. Gently pry the unit apart from the bottom. There are 3 plastic "clips" along each side of the tear-shaped unit.
4. Move the back portion of the unit upwards at the tip to disengage the L-hook on the tip of the faceplate of the unit. As you move the back portion up, slide the faceplate in a downward direction. This should fully separate the faceplate from the back portion. Be gentle there are wires attached.
5. Remove the two screws from the white plastic bracket that houses the fan and remove the fan and it's brackets, so you can reach all the screws in the assembly that houses the disc.
6. Remove the four screws from the metal base that holds the disc and dislodge the metal base.
7. Use the key tool that comes with the replacement disc to remove the old disc.
8. Disregard the black rubber washer that your new disc is packaged in. . .place new disc in location. Fully tighten the winding ring on top (otherwise you are subject to leakage). Be careful to maintain positioning of the rubber seal ring on the outside edge of the base unit when you reposition it to attach to the reservoir bottom. Fully tighten the base unit with the new disc back onto the bottom of the reservoir.
9. Reassemble the face plate and the back portion of the unit. CAUTION: Double check that all wires are loosely housed and not in the path of the 2 screws in the back of the unit or positioned so that they would be crimped by the "snap-on" clips.

[Everything doTERRA] Re: tracking business costs

I write off a percentage of my oils say about 30% because I feel I can legitimately say that I share samples of at least 30% of what I buy.  Since I don't usually share my supplements or spa products, I don't include those.  Oils only.  I find it impossible to keep track of exactly how many drops I've shared.  There are so many times I open a bottle and share a drop with someone at any given time. What if it's one of those occasions it just pours out and you can't get an exact count.  I can't imagine trying to track that, but I'm sure people do.  This is not legal advise.  Just a way I've chosen to do it.

to keep track of my expenses associated with handing out samples.
Obviously, I keep receipts for any sample bottles/labels, but at this
point, I'm giving samples out of my own personal oils.  Any
suggestions on keeping track of the cost of oils being given out as
samples versus the oils you are buying for personal use?  Thanks!

[Everything doTERRA] Re: The Correct Recipe for Peaceful Child

What oils are in the Peaceful Child blend?

On Friday, February 1, 2013 12:18:15 AM UTC-5, Deborah D. Gardner wrote:
Hello, this is Deborah Gardner, the creator of Peaceful Child. I am so glad that my blend has been so helpful to so many. There are many people out there who are posting incorrect recipes (without Lavender as the 2nd ingredient). The correct recipe is actually not on line anywhere (I have searched far and wide). I just thought I should inform everyone that while the blend with the incorrect recipe is helpful, it is not nearly as strong and calming as the real blend. This is because doTERRA's French Lavender has very high calming and sedative properties. I do make and sell the blend on the official website. I just learned that I am not supposed to advertise on here, so I will not post the website, but you can google it. I would love to have everyone's support and respectfully ask that individuals do not sell the incorrect blend, but instead, contact me. I am a single mother of 5 kids and this little business helps supplement my income enough so that I can stay at home with my children. :) Also, I wanted to let everyone out there know that one of the best things you can do to help your children who have ADHD, Tourette's, Aspergers, or Autism, is to cut out foods with red dye, MSG, high fructose corn syrup, and if at all possible, white sugar. In addition, it is very important to supplement their diet with micro brain nutrients.  The doTERRA fish oil and magnesium glycinate (available on line) are 2 such essential nutrients. Here is an article about the magnesium, in regards to ADHD and Tourette's (which my son has):
I hope this information helps!!
Kindest regards,
Deborah

[Everything doTERRA] Re: Anxiety and depression in children.

Although my son is mild in his moods, he can be very crabby and down at times.  I don't think this is his true nature as he was a very happy baby.  He loves citrus bliss and it is the only one he will wear to school because the kids there like that one. He wears that daily and actually asks for it now.  He is 12 now and actually uses it as his cologne.  He used to like elevation but the kids at school didn't like it as much.  Elevation is effective for him and his low moods, so when he needs it, we use it at night on his neck and or feet. He also has trouble sleeping, so we sometimes use balance and serenity.  I'm not consistent with him and this, he's not too bad, but if it were more severe, I would think these would be good daily choices.   Oh, my other thing with him is that he really needs to hydrate and eat frequently. (every 2 hours, preferably something healthy).  I have requested his teachers allow him to drink and eat more frequently than the provided times at school if he needs it- migraines and crabbiness can be a result of that as well.

Well it seems that this would have come up if the Lemon oil did erode the enamel since so many of us have been using it in our water for years. Also I think it was just in another post I saw where someone actually tested the PH and it came back the same for water with lemon oil in it as well as water without. This is like others have said it is just the pure oil from the lemons not the acid that would erode the enamel. Also there are so many dentist using the oils they would have seen that by now. Actually if I am thinking right there is a dentist on the scientific board for Doterra you could always contact him.

I don't have an answer to this and would like to hear what others with experience say.  From what I'm learning every Autistic child's body is different and responds to different oils in different ways.  Some find lavender calming, some find it has the opposite effect.  Many find environmental things such as different foods, food dyes, additives, chemicals, etc. to have pronounced effects on their kids. It really is a trial and error process.  Most of the moms find it worth it to put forth the effort to find the oils that do help them because finding a natural solution to many of the issues associated with autism can be difficult and the oils are a viable option.  My one friend found frankincense to help her son immensely with his seizures.  Is it ok if I repost this in our Essential Oils and Autism Spectrum Disorder facebook group and see what answers this group may have?  We are all learning and growing from these experiences.

[Everything doTERRA] Re: 4 year old scanned for Solace

Both my young girls scanned for Solace.  It doesn't bother me.  My 9 year old is already wearing a training bra, and going thru pre-puberty.  I'm quite certain she has female hormones going through her body that need some extra attention.  The added hormones in our food supply affect us and our children.  My 5 year old can be a bit dramatic at times and Solace may help her calm down. My 5 year old scanned for frankincense.  At first that concerned me knowing some of the things people use frankincense for, but if that's one of her bio-markers, I know its a fabulous oil and I'm not adverse to putting it on her feet or head and neck. I believe she will benefit from it as well as from the solace.  I learned last night that historically men who used to go into Adopause (male menopause- decreasing testosterone and increasing estrogen) at age 55 and now going through it at age 40.  Solace is an option for them too.

[Everything doTERRA] AFIB/ Arrythmia

My grandmother has been experiencing AFIB and the doctor wants to put in a pace maker and she is scared.  What oils do you use for AFIB? The book says for Arrythmia to use ylang ylang, lavendar, and deep blue but would it be ok to put those in a roller so it is easier for her to use? I am not sure where the best place to put it on would be?

Also, she has horrible swelling in her lower leg and ankle.  Doctor says it's not a clot or heart related but her leg is so swollen she is uncomfortable.  What oil do you use for swelling and where do you put it?

Thanks for your help!!!

Re: [Everything doTERRA] old scars

Frankincense internally, 2-3 drops per day. Then I would do a topical of Coconut Oil, Lavender and Frankincense.

My chiro tells me some of my issues are caused by the surgical  scar I have from hip to hip, its 20 plus years old. He says it cut across my meridians and is short circuiting my energy.  He wants me to use wheat germ oil daily but I think EOs will work better and faster, but which ones...I am new to EOs but I just sense that they shoud work better.  Any thoughts?

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Rosacia?

I actually would have no idea, since I have never experienced Rosacia. I would suggest she might want a professional opinion and then we can deal with it

Thank you,
Janyce
