Rachel, I'm in agreement on the throat chakra, and would suggest Whisper, placed on her throat. It balances the throat chakra. We have a Chakra Balancing technique with the oils that might be good for her.

As to the hormonal issues, I see a lot of people report success with Clary Sage at the base of the neck for the hot flashes, and she might also try Balance on her feet to ground and balance her emotionally.
