old, and we choose not to give them milk. I've done a decent amount of
research on milk substitutes and chose coconut milk for what was
available in our small town. It's got some high quality fats that
children need, it's organic, and it has a decent amount of other
vitamins in it. It is low on calcium, so we have to fortify that some
other way.
Also, I get so many valuable foods into my kids with smoothies. We
make a yummy green smoothie with coco milk, sometimes yogurt, a little
juice, water, ground flax and ground walnuts (into a paste), organic
greens, and whatever fresh or frozen (frozen makes a better smoothie!)
organic fruit I have on hand. My kids love it! I usually add 2 drops
of some sort of oil, today was citrus bliss. You can also sneak some
peanut butter or an avocado in there with a little tweaking, for fat
and protein.
Hope thats a little helpful!
