I don't think it is taboo to discuss the business side of it. I know at least one diamond who used a copy of her 15th of the month check on a business powerpoint webinar. I think you just do what you feel comfortable with. While I don't know if a copy of my check publicly is in my comfort zone I do share what I make when asked. In my classes I do talk briefly about the business and say I make more than I have at any other job/business I've ever had and my goal is to replace my entire household income. I do also tell them that I never intended this to be a business, it just happened.
I've heard lots of discussions as to the why and the why not. It can be overwhelming when you make twice as much as someone else does a month or not seem real. I generally try and use real examples like my enroller and how much her check is so that they can see it isn't just some unknown person.

I feel the same way you do Leah. If we are not sharing the details of how much we are making, then how will our team know what to expect when they are coming up? I remember my first 500.00 check, I was ecstatic, and I shouted it from the rooftops. I always share how much I made in the last month at my team meetings and it truly inspires my team members to reach for more. Just wait til you hit that 1000.00 check, and 1500.00 check! I am making around 2000.00 per month, as a Silver leader now, and I know it will only continue to grow!Suzy

Maybe it's how I was raised, but I've always been more frank about my financial status and income. And for me, it's motivating to hear other people doing well. I would love to hear somebody say, "I signed up 7 people last month and boosted this month's income by $200!" I would hear that, and think... oh, only 7 people? Wow, I could do that too.
Whereas just seeing the average monthly or annual income isn't so encouraging to me. I feel like I could never reach Diamond level, simply because I'm not good enough/strong enough/networked enough. I want to hear from the little guys. I want to be encouraged by little numbers, the baby steps.
I'm not into doTERRA for the income alone - I spent the first 3 years spending more than what was coming in. :) But now that it's starting to pay for itself... it makes me wonder what baby steps, what numbers are within my slow paced reach? So is it taboo to discuss the doTERRA income? Are there rules against it? I certainly understand that people have their own comfort levels of discussing money, but I want to know if it's ok to talk about it if I wish.
Blessings,Leah
