Re: [Everything doTERRA] oils in the classroom

It is my understanding that there are no beneficial properties of our oils when they are burned. When cooking with the oils it is suggested that the oils be put in the food after it has cooked, of if you just want them for flavoring, you can then cook them into the food. The same principle works for using an oil burner. It destroys the therapeutic value and may release toxic allergens into the air as well. This is why we use a cool water misty diffuser or pure oil diffuser to actually put the microscopic molecules into the air to kill pathogens, calm the various systems of our bodies and help in various mood managements. Please correct me if I have misunderstood this process. Doterra makes it very clear that distillation of the oils is very important to not overheat and use low temperatures and low pressure. Good luck with all of your students, and pick up a Lotus or Aroma Ace for your classrooms.

When I used my scentcy burner I used solid coconut oil and then a lot of a strong smelling oil, Holiday Joy, and I loved the smell of it. But it won't kill the germs in the room, it will make it smell amazing!

Thanks Kristy,

I tried to lemon in a scenty thingy today but couldn't really smell it that much, only put around 5-6 drops in the scenty warmer. I wanted to see if it would wake up some of the students who seem to be dragging some. I can only order a couple oils at a time and trying to figure out which ones would be best.
Thank you again!

I have a team member and teacher that diffuses Balance all day. She forgot one day and she said never again! She has to have it diffusing, and she has an amazing calm class. She also said that at registration she had her oils out and showed the parents that she will be using them. She had no complaints.

I work in a classroom that has a few students that I believe could use some calming down at times. I was told tonight that Lavendar, Serenity, or Balance would help. As parents of elementary children, would you think the oil in the air would be okay? The oil wouldn't go on the students that I am aware of at all. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. This was just a thought I had tonight after I came home from work tonight, so thought I'd ask on here (also asked a person on my team too.)
