I know this topic has come up before, and I have searched a lot, but I'd like to bring it up again to see if anyone has any research done on this subject specifically. A couple of my IPCs have expressed concern with ingesting the oils after reading a couple of blogs (http://www.granolaliving.com/2012/07/why-we-dont-offer-doterra-young-living-or-other-multi-marketing-brands-of-essential-oils/ http://www.aromaceuticals.com/blog/is-it-ok-to-ingest-essential-oils) and it all sounds convincing. However I have also found websites saying it is safe: http://www.anandaapothecary.com/articles/essential-oils-safe-for-ingestion.html and the note from Dave Stirling on the ee.me site: http://www.everythingessential.me/ApplyingOils/Ingestion.html However, neither of these address the idea of build up in the liver and the way the liver deals with the oils differently when applied topically and internally. I'm not a qualified aromatherapist or holistic doctor and will not, of course, advise them to do anything they are not sure of. I'm all about informed self-care, hence my search here for more information.
-- I take my allergy shot internally each day, as well as some citrus oil throughout the day (S&S or grapefruit) and I know this is recommended by Dr Hill in his daily protocol. I have done so for 2 years at least, but I need something to reassure my friends and customers. I realise doTERRA's purity would not cause a problem, but the potency of the oils might.
Thanks for any guidance and insight you can offer.
Lillian
