Hope you get through it ok and feel better soon. I had mine removed in 2003 and I had the same issues with waking up and being sick afterward. If you can ask the anaesthetist can they give you an antiemetic (Phenrgan or Zofran) before they give you your fist dose of anesthesia. That helped me so much. I've had several surgeries and everyone the same thing.

Hello. You all seem to have so much EO education I'd like to pose a strange situation to the group in hopes of finding a way to help this situation.--
I am having my gall bladder removed on Thursday, which requires general anesthesia. I have some less than desirable side effects from GA. I am fairly difficult to wake up. Once they get me to wake up, I am sick for days: nausia, vomiting and severe headaches, which is not very pleasant after having surgery. Apparently, my mother and grandmother also had these same issues. I was wondering if there was anything I might do pre-surgery to lessen the side effects that plague me post-surgery.Thank you, in advance, for any help!!Amber K
