[Everything doTERRA] can u build up a resistance to these oils

I had someone I was talking to today about the oils and she said she
knew someone that tried them for sinus issues and thought they were
wonderful for just about 5 days and then they didn't work anymore.
Please tell me this isn't possible or just explain to me how to
prevent it.
