I bought Epsom Salts for the first time yesterday and the package says that they are good for drawing out splinters.

Purify does a great job of pulling the sliver towards the skin. You could also put clove on it, to numb the area if you have to dig. I always have a hypodermic needle (needle only) in my first aid kit, it has a slant to it and seems to lift the sliver better. I wipe it in OnGuard and then remove the sliver. If the child is traumatized just keep Purify on it until it comes to the surface for removal.
After that Melaleuca or Lavender will heal the opening up nicely.
