Brittney – doTERRA does suggest that anyone who is pregnant or under medical care seek their doctors advice before using any of our products. It is ultimately our responsibility as consumers to make sure that there are not any contraindications with our pharmaceuticals. The problem is that most allopathic doctors (M.D.) do not have much experience with alternative/natural methods. A Naturopath or D.O. is more likely to have an understanding of both allopathic and alternative methods such as supplements, herbs, essential oils etc. What I love about doTERRA is that it is a company mission to educate medical professionals and consumers about the benefits of essential oils in a holistic approach to wellness. This gives me hope that in future complementary medicine will be the norm and not the exception. That M.D.’s are now suggesting in large numbers the use of omega oils and probiotics to their patients is a sign that alternative methods are becoming mainstream. Things are changing and fast and I feel so fortunate to be a part of this company that recognizes that science and nature can and do work together beautifully. I hope that your mother can find someone in the medical community with an open mind and understanding of natural methods that can help her.
