I know this will sound crazy, but I had the same issue with blocked salivary glands. My own instincts lead me to use lemon oil on the outside of my cheek where the swelling was worst. It worked perfectly. When I next visited my Doctor for renewal of my maintanence medications, I mentioned it to him. He told me that the "cure" for blocked salivary glands was to suck on Lemondrops! Now I have a bag handy for when it occurs again.
