Hi Annie,
Just comparing experience here: Whenever I ingest Clove and Peppermint as single oils or blended( particularly while swishing and/or swallowing for general health), I experience a runny nose and throat (even though I don't have a cold). These are powerful decongestant for me, it seems. So I just ignore the temporary discomfort and before long, the phlegm stops. Clove and Peppermint are both in the EO Mega and VMZ. However, I have no problem with Ginger. Ginger is known to "promote sweating and expel mucus", to quote Dr. Sue Lawton's Product Information Page on Ginger. So yes, maybe it's the ginger but maybe test yourself also on Clove and Peppermint.
I'm sure others will also post their opinions/experiences and you may proceed from there to be your own health detective.
Sweet smiles to everyone!
Nannette

Subject: [Everything doTERRA] Reaction to LLV
I started taking LLV and DDR prime (2 of each LLV and one DDR daily) on Dec 4, 2014.I am really healthy and am not aware of any food intolerances or allergies. My main reason for trying LLV was hormone balancing and hot flashes After about 10 days, I noticed improved energy and sleep, and my hot flashes went from about 30 a day (and night) to almost none (maybe one small hardly noticeable one a day)! This was great. But then I started to notice a tightness in my chest after taking the pills and then within about 15 minutes, lots of phlegm and mucuous, especially in upper chest, larynx and affecting vocal cords. (I teach music and sing a lot so that's not so good.) I tried going down to one each daily. Same reaction. I also tried different times of day and eating with different foods. Something in the pills wasn't working for me.
Then last week I had a ginger Kombucha drink - and had the same reaction. (I hadn't noticed this sensitivity before.) Then I saw ginger in all 3 of the LLV bottles with the inclusion of Tummy Tamer blend. I did take try taking only the DDR the last 2 days and no reaction so that let me rule out any cross-oils in that and LLV (like Frankincense.) So...I think I may have developed a sensitivity to the intensity of something in LLV and think it might be ginger. With the reaction to the drink and to the pills being the same, maybe it's too much of this substance in my body. And if it's not that, I'm definitely reacting to something in the LLV. What do people do who want the benefits of LLV (they are awesome) but are having trouble with some ingredient? Help, please!
