Another great one to try is Thyme. Rubbing on the chest and then breath in from hands. If it's the one, you should see some measure of relief right away. It's wonderful with coughs and can help the body to stop the cough spasums too.
I'd sugest paying attention to what makes it worse. Ie: moisture, dryness, cold, heat. First ting in morning, evening, cooking, activity, eating (then look at foods)... Doing the oposite can bring some comfort as well as give the body more of a break to overcome what it's fighting.
If it's headed for the head, DigestZen around the belly and help keep the muscus regulated in the body. Love Breathe and Lime or Wild Orange together on the chest and breath in- can make a t-shirt tent and breath in what your chest is diffusing which can be helpful and help bring relief.
Adding oils to a cup or pot of hot water and putting a towel over them to create a steam bath for your head can be helpful- if the cough chills in moisture in general. Id not use that technique if it's worse in moisture (think how are you at the end of a shower, moist bathroom. Note that can be heat or moisture.)
AromaTouch Technuque might be nice right now to help you rest and relax if you can take laying on that rib. It's beutiful for assisting the body back to homeostasis. Dr Hill has said the body can't heal out of homeostasis.
My fav oils to help the body get in great on broken bones: White Fir & Helichrysum- topically. I also use Balance (think best single blend to assist with homeostasis) religiously when there is illness, injury, or failure to heal properly- topicly. I will even apply even 20 min for an accute issue along with the target oils I'm using. I feel it helps the body get back in its best mode to heal. It's been key many times in things we have ran into. If healing is progressing nicely we just apply 1-2x a day.
I hope some of the ideas we have shared help you to assist your body to create the health you desire.
Have a better day,
Heather
