Another idea: thyme has been helpful to stop cronic coughing.

All the oils are antiviral but how about OnGuard & Mellisa or DDR up his spine.

Another idea is go with an antispasmatic an ester like Lavender or clary sage... Those are the 2 juming out at me. You can look up Ester content of single oils in your ME book. Wintergreen is a strong Ester.

Or the other direction an treat with the law of simulars which is why a small amout of rosemary might work.
