Some people like to dilute the oils, thinking that it doesn't change the efficacy of them. The oils are very powerful and so some they seem expensive. I personally know that the oils are so much less expensive than going medical. But if there are ways to use them and help them to last longer then its a good decision.

Yes the oils ratio to carrier is what the percentage is. There are a few oils that are warm to the skin, for instance you would not apply oregano to your skin without a carrier oil.I had a small rash and I applied oregano with equal drops carrier. I wasn't about to take the chance of an oregano burn. Others such as lemongrass is warm for some people, again just let your intuition guide you.

Small children and babies should always use a carrier.
