I like to think of our liver like a fine mesh colander. More like many layers of colanders. Things with a larger make up get trapped in the filter. Synthetics have a much larger molecular size then natural occurring compounds- we can't build stuff that small. It's not the oregano that gets stuck in the liver. It's what it helps the body release that gets stuck. So our liver can need some ketch up time as you would in your kitchen if you were sifting a lot at once. I've heard so many time schedules given for the liver from naturopaths & chiropractors alike. The point is to give the body a break at least until you notice a difference in stools which tends to be about a week. Or that is the generally excepted rule of thumb. I've heard & read 3 days to 2 weeks cited.
