[Everything doTERRA] TMJ: Displaced Miniscus

Okay--I am needing some advice.  I have been dealing with TMJ issues for the last couple of years--on either/both sides of my jaw.  I just recently had an arthrocentesis/lavage done on the right side of my jaw--just a procedure where a needle is inserted in front of the ear into the jaw joint and flushes out the debris and breaks up scar tissue.  (I had this done one year ago on my left side with much success).  Well...this time, it didn't work.  :(  The next step that the dr. is wanting me to do is an arthroscopy--which is an open-joint surgery where they will cut the area in front of my ear and repair the damage that is done.  This makes me super nervous to have that done--I had a chiropractor tell me that when they have to open the joint to do stuff, then it can open up a whole can of worms for other problems.  Anyway, the Oral Surgeon explained to my that I have a displaced miniscus (pretty much my jaw is dislocated), and that the ligament is stretched, so he would have to stitch it together, tightening it, to help the joint stay where it is supposed to stay, and also shave off any bone spurs that may be there.

Over the last couple of weeks, after my physical therapy for the procedure was complete, I still had not much relief of pain, nor range of motion.  I used a few oils right after having the procedure done, and then didn't use them for about 5 weeks--over the weekend, I started using Lemongrass, Marjoram, and Frankincense again around my jaw joint area, and after using them for a couple of days, I felt quite a bit of pain relief, plus I was able to open my mouth a little wider than I had been able to before...

So, my question is...if I keep using oils, do you think that it will fully repair itself, and I don't need the corrective surgery?  If so, am I using the correct oils (I chose Lemongrass and Marjoram for their use for ligament/joint issues, and Franki because that what other protocols have stated to use.).  Are there other oils I should try instead of or addition to these oils I'm already using?  OR...do I still get the surgery to repair the damage done to my join, and use the oils in help aiding the healing process?

I'm kind of at a loss, because I don't want to get the surgery if it's not necessary and can be healed with just using oils.  But I don't want to NOT get it, if I am truly needing it, and the oils will help to aid the recovery process.  My biggest issue is that I have a hard time opening my mouth without severe pain, and I can't eat anything harder/chewier than steamed veggies!  Thanks for any advice/insight you might have.  :)
