I had one recently. What helped me the most was massage the area in front of the clog (towards the nipple) not right on it itself while pumping/feeding, hot bean bag/warm shower, and I used Frankincense on location and in front of the clog as well. I also used Solace on the back of my neck (I'm not sure why I felt impressed to do that but I do think it contributed to getting rid of it). Massaging the area in front of the clog was a recommendation by my lactation consultant and I thought it was a good one. Her thought was "when you have a knot in your hair, you don't try to pick out the roots, you start at the tips". So her idea to massage the outlet of the clog I felt was helpful. Massaging directly on the spot caused bruising and pain with no relief for me. I did not have mastitis. Best wishes,
