I wanted to post a couple of experiences that I thought might help someone else.--1) Lemon Water Detox symptomsI had been doing the "gentle" detox --- just drinking 1-2 drops of lemon in my water throughout the day. From all I had read, this was the easiest way to go. But after only one day, I would get these big headaches! This happened at least five times, and I ruled out the possibility of tension or caffeine headaches, so I know it was the detox. I read lots of stories online about how people said that detox just seems to affect people differently, but I was discouraged that the gentlest of detoxes seemed to debilitate me.Then I remembered something I had read in a book by Sherry Rogers (Detoxify or Die). She explains how different nutrients support our body's detoxification mechanisms. She specifically mentions zinc, copper, manganese, magnesium, vitamin C, lipoic acid, and glutathione (a tripeptide of glycine, glutamic acid, and cysteine). We're not yet able to afford the LLV supplements, but I would guess they contain many of the nutrients required to support detoxification. Also, if someone is taking a quality daily vitamin or other supplements, they might detox better. Anyway, I have noticed that when I take a vitamin C complex (I just buy the Trader Joe's brand), my headaches go away! I'm guessing that while supplements won't completely eliminate detox symptoms, they would sure take the edge off!2) Knee infectionMy husband came home from work two days ago with terrible knee pain. He said it was slight when he woke up, but by the end of the day, he couldn't put any weight on it. He didn't do anything that would injure it; he had just gone to work and come home. I read about knee pain/injuries, and most seemed to discuss strains or other injuries. After trying Frankincense and Basil with a warm compress and leaving it over night, it wasn't any better. In the morning, I suddenly had a thought that it was infected. I made him a capsule with OnGuard, Oregano, Melaleuca and Lemon (3-2-1-1). In the evening it was better, so I gave him another. That was yesterday. This morning he said it was much better, so I gave him another capsule. We'll continue this track for a week.A quick google search turned up some various knee infections. I didn't even know that could happen! Bacteria can invade the knee bursae (causing bursitis) or even the joints (causing septic arthritis). Anyway, whatever it was/is, the oils have saved the day again!!
