[Everything doTERRA] Re: Caffeine headaches

i'm going to point out the blatently overlooked answer that so far no one has broached. and i say this with all the love of an ex-caffeine addict. :)

quit drinking it.

coffee, coke, pepsi, dr. pepper, mt. dew ... whatever your caffeine vehicle, quit it cold turkey. yes, you will have a headache for a couple of days. that's your body detoxing. past tense will help alleviate a lot of that headache, as your blood vessels quit constricting and return to a normal diameter.

trust me ... i feel your pain. i had the same headaches for literally decades. finally, one day i decided to give up caffeinated beverages cold turkey. my body revolted for 3 full days. headaches, my arms felt like lead ... actually all of me felt like lead. it was horrible. but after the 3 days, i slept like a baby, and i haven't had a headache since.

i totally understand the "need" for caffeine. i've subsituted mine with a glass of water as soon as i get up, and a healthy breakfast (e.g. oatmeal, eggs, banana, toast ... nothing really super-sugary like typical breakfast cereals tend to be).

it will definitely suck for those 3 days, but once you emerge on the other side, you'll be so glad you quit.

Anyone have suggestions on how to break caffeine addiction using oils? I wake up every morning to a splittig headache and the only thing that takes it away is coffee. I have a 3mos old and I'm up with her several times per night due to her acid reflux, so getting more sleep is not uet an option. I've tried past tense unsuccessfully. Thanks!
