Re: [Everything doTERRA] gum recession due to bruxism

I had a new IPC have this surgery, they did three major grafts, she hemorrhaged and had to go back to the hospital. Her doctor had told her not to take anything that he did not prescribe but she was in so much pain and nothing helped that her husband called me. I suggested the oil pull, he come over and got the oils. The first time she did the pull was the first time she was out of pain. When she went in for a check up two weeks later the doctor was astonished. He asked her what she had done, she said why and he said your mouth looks like it has been 3 months worth of healing and not just two weeks. I felt bad that she wouldn't tell the doctor what she did, but I was thrilled that it worked for her.

Funny, someone told me the same things many years ago. I believed it until I changed dentists and the new dentist had me go see a Periodontist. If you can, go see a periodontist. They can tell you if you would be a good candidate for a gum graft. I had one done years ago. They didn't use my tissue, they used what I call "frankin gums" (tissue made in a lab). It didn't last. My perio believes if we use my own tissue (they take from the roof of the mouth. Think pizza burn on steroids) then it will work. Some people do better with one over the other. It isn't painful, but your face will swell up a little. And, your gums will look gross for a week or so.

If you can, get a water pik. You can put the oils in the water pik. My dentist recommended a water pik and I have read adding healing oils to the water helps with the healing. If you combine the water pik and the pull, I bet you will start to see an improvement in your gum health.

I am getting a mouth splint to wear at night to prevent teeth
grinding, which my dentist is convinced I do, which has caused a lot
of gum recession.  Besides being unattractive, this recession can also
lead to premature tooth loss.  My dentist said once the gum is lost,
there isn't anything that can be done to bring it bach.  He said
grafting doesn't work that great.  I am now just trying to prevent
further gum recession and damage.  I have read some information about
pulling the oils for oral health.  Could this help with promoting
growth of lost gum tissue?
