 Here is how I understand the connection, from talking to my daughter's
 Rheumatologist: Inflammation IS an attack on the immune system; it
 puts you in a chronic state of battle, essentially overwhelming your
 immune system, and that is part of what causes the reactions and
 symptoms of MS, Crohns', Fibromyalgia, Lupus and other diseases that
 they lump together as "auto-immune" for want of clear direction. That
 is why it is so different from person to person; the "diseases" are
 simply the way the symptoms present themselves, and when you have
 chronic inflammation, it manifests in one or more of these.
 As best I can figure, and what I am working on, is beating down the
 inflammation from all the sources in the body. I am specific in
 treatments where I know there is a problem, and I do my best to deal
 with whole body cleansing and care as much as possible, too. Sometimes
 I start cleansing too heavily,  and I have to back off a bit while a
 particular area has a chance to start healing. Even as compromised as
 I perceive I am, my body still has an uncanny knack of knowing what it
 needs the most, and I am often surprised when something starts to
 cleanse that I didn't even know needed it! The oils are such a gift
 that way; takes the guesswork out of helping my body stabilize and
 begin to heal.
