[Everything doTERRA] Re: Oils

Wow Brooke! I can hardly imagine a longer list of great successes than
that! Thanks so much for sharing!

I was a distributor with another oils company for many years. For the
most part, had been quite satisfied with the products. Was not looking
for another company (well, not consciously looking anyway). Learned
about doTERRA and because I knew Justin, Dr. Hill, and Emily, was
curious about the company and the oils. Got the basic kit so I could
check them out. Was truly shocked at how much better I liked them!
(The biggie was when I applied lavender to the back of my neck and
developed NO rash!) Switched companies almost immediately. Haven't
looked back since!

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Oils

Brianna,
I haven't really researched other companies - and maybe I will do more -
just so I have the info. I think that it is difficult because no matter
what - you're going to have every company make the statement that theirs are
the "Best". If I was an official "scientist", I could test them all myself
and find out that way - but I don't have that designation after my name - so
instead I have to rely on good ole' fashioned 'scientific' testing with my
"MOM" designation! :-)
So, here's what I've found so far....
-I've cleared up diper-rash on a friends son
-I've gotten everyone in my family over the 'flu' in 2-4 days - without
seeing an official "doctor"
-I haven't had to get a prescription for tamiflu, antibiotic, or other
medication since I joined in July
-I was able to take care of my son who got strep throat from a friend - by
using oils only
-I have made my house smell extremely good - and I can actually breathe
after (usually had problems with other ways of making my home smell good) -
and in the meantime, have hopefully killed airborne bacteria...
-Kept myself from getting a sore throat- overnight
-My son hasn't had his yearly "fall asthma" attack and subsequent cold
(which usually included a trip to the Urgent Care facility to get breathing
treatments)
-Been able to treat my hip with Deep Blue so I can sleep at night (It may be
bursitis of the hip and gets inflamed sometimes - but the pain goes away
within 5 minutes of putting on Deep Blue
-I have used the Past Tense to get over several headaches
-I've been able to help my daughter who has anxiety issues using Balance,
Serenity, and other things
-Helped my 8 yr. old son when he had an exercise induced asthma attack -
and instead of asking for his albuterol inhaler - he asked for 'oils' - so I
put Breathe on his chest and within one minute he was breathing normal again
-Been taking Lemon and Peppermint in my water every morning - and have been
much more "regular" - (gross, I know, but.....)
-Helped my 14yr old eliminate the pain when she hurt her shoulder playing
Volleyball this season
-Used Digestzen when I got food-poisoning. Woke up in the middle of the
night thinking I was going to die! "Poured" it over my stomach - put a
couple of drops under my tongue and did it twice, and was back to sleep
within 30-40 minutes.
-Bonded with my children every night as I put oils on them

So....that's my 'scientific'/"Dr. Mom" results. I guess for me, that's
enough proof - for now. And, I didn't even include the stories from my
friends who have been using the oils!

I hope you are able to have the same successes!
Love,
Brooke Magleby

I have a client who works in an old building that has a very musty,
mildewy smell. What essential oils can he diffuse to help cleanse the
air? Are there oils that will kill mold and mildew?

*In our situation, with a 14 year old child who was violent, ADHD, OCD, ODD
and Asperger's, getting a wayward petition and contacting CPS was the best
thing that every happened to us. Our son was stealing, lying, staying out
all night and would become violent if we tryed to discipline him. He was
hospitalized after he became hurt in a violent outburst and we filed a
wayward petition which generally kept us as his legal parents, but turned
his care over to CPS. They funded a very expensive residential school for
children with mental health issues. He remained there for 3 years and the
structure, education, medication management and counseling provided there
helped him tremendously. (We always took him home Friday afternoon through
Sunday eve, and his behavior was wonderful!) He has since returned home and
he is a changed young man. If it were not for the funding of this facility
through CPS (the only program which would pay for this facility) our son's
life would have turned out much differently, as would ours. I know
everyone's experience is different, and my heart breaks when CPS does not do
right by families, making matters worse. In our situation, things could not
have been much worse at his time of hospitalization.*

Wow, there is so much truth in what you write. I can relate. I call myself the CPS queen. I've had nasty situations happen and have learned to cover my a**. Excuse the saying. They've come into my life unannounced but I've also looked for there help. I needed a PINS warrant against my 14yr old runaway. But they say that god only gives you as much as you can handle.

Yes no child is perfect. Don't we wish. I was a single mom for a while and have since remarried,  I have two children with him but I also have 4 that are not his and they will always come before him. I feel that once you divorce or separate you're kids are yours. Some men step up to the plate some just don't care. I have one that just doesn't care. I feel I am all my kids have and if I don't back them up who will? If they are wrong they are wrong but when when they are right I'm there. When they are wrong I explained to them why they have to deal with their consequences.

So no I would never put any man ahead of them.

Thanks for listening.

Hello,
Well somehow I missed the background  (was
away all weekend and then work Monday<G>)...on this....but I know one
thing: You should nearly NEVER involve CPS.....they destroy lives much more than
they help! I can list a few dozen examples, if you like, at least!

Counseling can help but also can be just another
route to CPS involvement.

Children are not perfect. There are no guarantees.
But I also do not feel they are "throw away" to someone else when something is
difficult. That is when they need love and guidance the most. God never said
life would be wonderful, only that we have life. And He never gives us more than
we can handle (even if we tend to differ at the moment<G>).....believe me,
I know.

I have survived childhood molestations, being
beaten as a wife, caring for a child with disabilities, and yes CPS in our
lives.(Just to name a few challenges<G>)....and guess what, I've grown
more into "ME" and I have grown emotionally and spiritually strong! Also became
ordained; and do what I can to help others.

Children are a blessing and an
inheritance!

(And I also think they should come before any
man---a grown man is just that: grown already! But our children need us to show
them how to grow. Also, men can come and go, but we are "mom" to our kids
always!).

Just my opinions<G> based on my
experiences<G>

Try to pump yourself up and stay focus on you and not the other grumpy people.   I have done the black friday thing only twice,  dont mind if I have the money to spend,  but most times I dont bother going.  Like you too crowded and hectic trying to get to everything on your list and it takes alot of planning to get up at 4 or 5 am to get everything done on your list from all the sales.........................

*What a nice post!*
**
*We have always minimized holidays to cut down on the over-stimulation
factor. On Thanksgiving, myself, my brother with a disability and our
children pick a good movie to see and we go to the movies. My husband, (who
LOVES to cook) uses the quiet time to make the dinner. We come home to a
nice turkey dinner with tons of great vegetables. We love our Thanksgiving
tradition.*
*For Christmas, we minimize gift giving. My son who is autistic has always
hated Christmas and would walk right past the Christmas tree to the other
end of the house and watch tv, completely ignoring the presents. We usually
buy one nice family gift (like a Wii,) that we all then play together. I
have to buy gifts for the nieces and nephews, but I usually buy them each 1
nice book and attach an envelope with money in it. My husband's family is
so large that they get plenty of other gifts. *
*The key to it all, I think, is that I am not a super mom. I don't keep a
spotless house, so I am not under stress about cleaning. I am very lucky
that my husband loves to cook the meals. If the children need to
bring goodies in for a school party, I send in bakery bought cupcakes. The
best thing is we don't make a big deal out of holidays which alleviates the
stress as possible so that the holidays are simply fun days off work where I
can spend a little extra time with my family.

Remember to count your blessings and that you have done the same thing to people at one point or another. so love your neighbor and treat them as you would like to be treated. Christmas is about the birth of Jesus. Without his birth, we would all be dead. we are all brothers and sisters. so remember that when someone is rude or mean this holiday and smile instead and watch how they transform and how you feel after...trust me it will make things more calmer, less stress. we dont live in perfect but we can do all things in Christ who gives us the strength to do it.

I so understand what you mean.I also have a difficult time with rude people I guess some people don't know how to deal with a bad day. Most people that are grouchy need love. Honestly, I that god that us MOMS are not battery operated  because I don't know where we would find ones with the life we have. We are stronger than the energy bunny. lol  But we should always take at least 10 minutes to our selves. I go to my backyard and look up at the sky and thank god for giving me the strength to deal with everything that comes my way. I take a few deep breathes. Just to get some fresh air in my system. Then I come back inside ready to continue and freshly charged. lol

Thank you very much for your group we learn plenty from each other.

My parents and siblings are going to have a Pilgrim feast, focusing on things like cornbread and fish on Thanksgiving day, with the regular dinner with turkey and mashed potatoes with family on other days. I'm going to try making one of the cranberry sauce recipes my friend shared with me here:

Thanksgiving Day brings to mind
the blessings in our lives
that usually go unnoticed:
a home that surrounds us
with comfort and protection;
delicious food, for pleasure
in both eating and sharing;
clothes to snuggle up in,
books and good entertainment
to expand our minds;
and freedom to worship our God.
Most of all we are thankful
for our family and friends,
those treasured people
who make our lives extra special.
You are part of that cherished group.
On Thanksgiving, (and every day)
(I) appreciate you.

Happy Thanksgiving!

My family loves my Pumpkin Cheesecake. I like my mashed potatoes, and mashed sweet potato casserole.

Absolutely. Here ya go…

Apple Cranberry Stuffing

1 stick butter
1 1/2 cups celery, diced
1 1/2 cups yellow onion, diced or 3/4c red onion + ¾c yellow onion
3 large green apples (granny smith's seem to work best)
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 Tbsp. sage
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup dried cranberries
16 oz. bag of herbed stuffing bread (Pepperidge farm or the like)
2 14 oz. cans vegetable broth

Melt butter in a very large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and celery. Sauté until onions just begin to turn translucent, about 7 to 8 minutes. Peel, core and dice apples.

In a large bowl, combine onion mixture, apples, nutmeg, salt, pepper, sage, cloves, thyme and cinnamon. Stir in nuts and cranberries. Mix in stuffing bread. Add vegetable broth and stir until stuffing bread is evenly moistened.

Transfer stuffing mixture to a large Pyrex dish and bake at 350° for 35 minutes. Stir. Serve immediately.

I once tried stuffing the turkey with this and it didn't turn out as well, not sure why?
