It works to get the aroma up into the air, but it doesn’t work to get the actual oils into the air for purifying and for inhaling them. In order for that to happen, the must go through the ionization or nebulizing process. This process breaks the oils into finer particles that are small enough to go airborne and they go airborn on a carrier, such as the water that is diffused as well. Simple physics—if a molecule is heavier than air, it can’t float or rise up without propulsion. A wax warmer does not propel and it doesn’t break up the molecules so they are much, much heavier than the air itself.

I have been told to put some EVCO in the plate on the warmer with a drop or 2 of the oil. Does this work similarly to using a diffuser or not?
