Hi all

I just had my very first talk, "Discover the magic of essential oils"
and 3 out of 10 attendees signed up! It was fun and I am so grateful
for all the resources and help readily available here and everyone in
doterra.

There are some people who are interested in specific oils and I have
come across some excellent handouts on the builddoterra website under
the section "education" with many wonderful lectures with Dr Susan
Lawton. But perhaps this is a new section and not all oils are there,
like Lavender, Balance etc. Am I overlooking something? Where can I
get a ready made flyer similar to the other handouts which are
awesome.

With appreciation, Zaitoon

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Chrons help!

Modern Essentials suggests Peppermint and DigestZen for Crohn's Disease (since the DigestZen has peppermint in it, I'd just start there if it were me). In addition to what Sharon recommended, I'd also suggest a good cleanse, like the GX Assist and PB Assist combination. Like many digestive diseases, this has its roots in an overgrowth of candida albicans. If it were me, I'd also be trying the TerraZyme, and our LLV supplements to improve my general health and immunity and support my digestive system.

You guys might want to read Dr. Jordan Rubin's story and what he did to fight this disease. His story impressed me a few years ago when I started my own journey to natural health and wellness:

Good luck to him, and what a blessing that he has you to help him find a natural means for battling this rather than the toxic method (chemo) that many doctors recommend.

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Chrons help!

Lemongrass was mentioned on the weekly call on builddoterra.com in regards to a bowel issue.  He also needs to avoid all dairy, gluten, sugar.  If I were in his shoes I'd be drinking aloe vera juice in addition to the oils.

[Everything doTERRA] Nose Infection

I just got rid of a persistant case of something like you are
describing. I tried Frankincense, Lavender, Melaleuca, and pur
glycerin to no real avail. What worked for me was Balance! I used a
cotton swab and put Balance inside each nostril in the morning and
evening every day. You have to be persistant, and even keep doing it
when you have no symptoms for a few weeks.

Re: [Everything doTERRA] sciatic nerve pain

Run your hands down the back of your buttox until you feel the zinging pain, identifying the sciatica. Put either Deep Blue or Past Tense on that area and rub it down the side of the leg. Repeat as needed.

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Hemorrhoids

Go to everythingdoterra.com and type in hemorrhoids--the first site has some good information from Janella Juice.  Among other things, there is a cream to make with FCO and 3 oils.  For some people, this works better than neet-coconut oil may be healing.  Apply with 2x2 cotton squares and  leave it in place-especially if there is bleeding. This is the best cream for the problem as well as the other things she suggested. cmm

Yes, this has worked very well for my friends. Each time they use the restroom after
wiping, they apply Frankincense on a cotton pad to the affected area.
They also used Digest Zen applied to the Colon Area every day.

Re: [Everything doTERRA] post labor...bleeding and fundal checks

I had my last 3 babies with midwives.  They gave me homeopathic arnica tablets under my tonuge during labor and after the birth.  I had no after birth pains at all.

I'm going to reply with what I've gleaned over the years and my personal experience... but it's just that, personal experience and one size doesn't fit all. Here's what I would be doing in your situation:

I think it's unneccessary to massage the uterus to such intense levels. Some people would even consider it a form of birth rape. (Here's a midwife's link: http://navelgazingmidwife.squarespace.com/navelgazing-midwife-blog/2011/4/13/birth-abuse.html And it's about 1/3rd down her post, it's very long.) I personally had a midwife with a homebirth and she just told me to feel for my uterus and gently massage it to make sure it was the size of a grapefruit or orange. I took my time, gently probing until I found it and pretty much pushing around to make sure it wasn't too big. There's no need to be agressive. Perhaps some clary sage essential oil on your tummy to help tighten the uterus.

For post labor bleeding, I would be chugging liquid chlorophyll to replace the blood loss. http://www.momessentials.net/pregnancy-nutrition/ I hope your iron levels are decent too. According to the Modern Essentials book, helichrysum will help with the bleeding.

Something that I've read that can help with after pains is to go to the bathroom each time before you nurse your baby. What about some relaxing oils? Balance, serenity, lavender... I'm sure others could suggest more.

I think it's important to remember that this is your body, your baby. You have the right to say no, stop, don't. I had a retained placenta, and as my midwife tried to work it out, I had to tell her to stop, it was painful. She completely respected my feelings and worked to find a different angle or position to remove the placenta. You need to be in charge, or need somebody (your husband? a good friend?) who will stand by what YOU want and not let doctors and nurses basically say (with their actions) "too bad! This is how I do it."

my last baby was the fundal checks and massage.  This is my 6th baby,
and I was told last time that after this many it's harder for the
uterus to get back to size....higher risk for blood clots and
hemorrhaging.  Thus, excruciating fundal massage....kneading to the
spine.

I was wondering what I might try that would help alleviate "after
pains" in general.  Also, post labor bleeding.  Maybe that would
lessen the need for hospital staff to do so much of this fundal
massage stuff?

[Everything doTERRA] Re: trim shake recipe for truffles

Hi, Heather!

I've posted the recipe at www.essentialenergyapplied.com, along with
the outline if you'd like to teach others. These have been another fun
baby step, a foot in the door for teaching people to transform their
lives with essential oils. Enjoy!

Love, Tamalu

RE: [Everything doTERRA] post labor...bleeding and fundal checks

Cayenne (sp) pepper helps bleeding to stop sooner. Drink in water or take in capsuls

If it isn't , go pee (clots will say in with a full bladder), rub the uterus and make sure the clots are out and bleeding is normal. I haven't had problems with my clients even after they have had 5-8 kids. the key is get out of the hospital as soon as you can after delivery. I'm talking a few hours. :)

Re: [Everything doTERRA] post labor...bleeding and fundal checks

I was wondering what I might try that would help alleviate "after
pains" in general.  Also, post labor bleeding.  Maybe that would
lessen the need for hospital staff to do so much of this fundal

Re: [Everything doTERRA] soda

That was very interesting, and I thank you for sharing it here. I'll add that we also absorb aluminum from things like our deodorant and antiperspirants that have aluminum sulfate in them because our drinking water has chlorine (a toxin) and fluoride (a toxin rejected by every other country in the world except the US that actually promotes tooth decay rather than preventing it), both of which increase absorption of aluminum. So, we take a morning shower, apply toxic deodorant/antiperspirant, then drink Coke (which has been proven to clean drains out better than Draino, btw), and wonder why we're so sick?

Aspartame is a neurotoxin that was never supposed to be approved, and was only approved due to a political appointment by Donald Rumsfield in 1980. It can cause many side effects, including headaches, loss of consciousness, and seizures. Don't drink diet soft drinks, they're poisonous, literally.

I don't drink soft drinks, I use natural deodorants and no antiperspirant so that my body can regulate itself as it was meant to do w/o odor, and I use only organic products on and in my body as much as possible.

Of course drinks will have aluminum in them. Look at the can. Most
soft drinks have a highly acidic pH, not just Coke. I did an
environmental assessment in Vernal at Coca Cola. I reviewed all their
MSDS documents. All of their soft drink syrups have a pH of 0.5. To
gain perspective, if a substance has a pH of less than 2, it is
considered a corrosive hazardous waste. The soft drink syrup is 15x
more acidic than the hazardous waste. How is that NOT dangerous? I
don't drink soft drinks.

Lastly, I did a research project for the State last year, looking for
benzene, a known carcinogen in restaurants. Specifically, the Mexican
restaurant just off your exit of I-15. Again for the perspective, the
benzene standard for drinking water is 5 parts per billion (ppb). Soft
drinks have benzene concentrations up to 82 ppb, 16 times the
allowable limit for drinking water. The benzene comes as a breakdown
product of sodium benzoate in an acidic medium. It is used as a
preservative, but it sounds toxic to me. I don't drink soft drinks.

[Everything doTERRA] Re: Interstitial cystitis

sorry, my post got cut off, I was trying to type, try OnGuard in
bathwater and ingesting it in some water. The book (Modern Essential
Usage Guide) recommends these. Otherwise, drinking/cleansing to remove
the irritants from your system is a good start as well as learning the
Relaxation Phase of Kegels to help decrease tension in the pelvic
floor can also help decrease irritation to bladder. Hope this helps.

typically, with IC, anything acidic will make it worse as it irritates
the bladder, along with coffee, soda, wine, etc. it's almost a
histamine reaction (at least one of the theories) as well as an immune
dysfunction. Try OnGuard on abdomen and feet, also you can use

RE: [Everything doTERRA] post labor...bleeding and fundal checks

As a midwife, i don't do a lot of massage.  Studies have shown this can actually increase bleeding issues.  I have my moms take a 5 week formula without penny royal (it can make you trickle bleed for a long time) to help the bleeding stop when it should, and then have the mom check her uterus and make sure it is staying in a hard ball. :)

[Everything doTERRA] MJ Assist

I am looking for some MJ Assist. I wanted to start my dad on it, but
they have discontinued the product. I've heard they MIGHT be replacing
it with something, but if anyone out there has some they would be
willing to sell me, please let me know.
Thanks!

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Labor and Deep Blue

I think a little shouldn't hurt. I sniffed peppermint and had some on my upper lip during labor to help with nausea. Worked fantastically, and my milk roaring in 2 days later. The first night I felt "pinned" down by how much milk I had and needed my husband to help pull me up.

That said... it wouldn't hurt to keep some fenugreek pills on hand, and mother's milk tea. Don't forget that basil essential oil can increase the milk supply. So does clary sage, according to some.

Would you recommend Deep Blue for labor/delivery as a topical, or

[Everything doTERRA] Interstitial cystitis

I am a 36 year old female with symptoms of interstitial cystitis. I
agree that the lemon and on guard make it worse. I have tried oregano
and melaluca and it didnt seem to help either. I have just started a
cleanse, and am going to lay off the spicy food and soda to see if I
can get myself into remission. Any other ideas would be greatly
appreciated!

[Everything doTERRA] post labor...bleeding and fundal checks

So I'm new, and 38 weeks pregnant. My most negative experience with
my last baby was the fundal checks and massage. This is my 6th baby,
and I was told last time that after this many it's harder for the
uterus to get back to size....higher risk for blood clots and
hemorrhaging. Thus, excruciating fundal massage....kneading to the
spine.

I was wondering what I might try that would help alleviate "after
pains" in general. Also, post labor bleeding. Maybe that would
lessen the need for hospital staff to do so much of this fundal
massage stuff?
