I took all my oils in a plastic bag in my purse when I went to Japan.  Every time you go through the security check, make sure to take out the plastic bag containing oils from your purse, it wouldn't be a problem.  If you're taking a bunch and wouldn't use them inside the plane, I'd check in.  Coming back from Japan, I was questioned but eventually, they ok'd. ;)
