- In this order, put some coconut oil on your hands for better spreading, drop 5-6 drops of Balance along the spine (if you don't have balance use Lavender) with your hands (oiled) gently feather the oils that you have dropped. Go the full length, top to bottom. Next apply these oils in order, dropping and spreading the oils gently: OnGuard (or Aroma Touch), Deep Blue (can use Deep Blue Rub), Helichrysum, Wild Orange and finish with Peppermint.
- Then lay a very warm moist towel along the spine. Leave it there until the heat is gone.

My husband was in a car accident a year ago. He injured his lower
back. Doctor's tests show that his discs are blown out (L4/L5 and L5/
S1 I believe). He was preparing for spinal fusion surgery, then we
had to change insurance and the new doctors want him to basically dope
up on heavy medication instead of fixing the problem. He is in
intense pain almost constantly, and refuses to take the prescriptions
from the doctors. I'm newly into doTERRA oils, and have used them
successfully for myself and my children, but I don't know where to
begin for my husband. I've heard that different types of pain need
different types of oils.
He has described his pain as follows:It starts in his lower back along
the spine. It radiates to the sides from there. It also goes up his
spine and out to the sides about the level of his underarms. It's a
burning pain.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might help him? I've tried
deep blue on his lower back, but he didn't notice any difference with
it.
Thanks!
