That being said, the reason essential oils have "caution" with
newborns is because until doTERRA, they weren't pure enough. I most
certainly wouldn't have used any other companies oils on my newborn.
The link, keeper of the home, also says to "never ingest an essential
oil". We doTERRA-ites know we can! I would dilute them on newborns, of
course, as their skin is so new and sensitive. And, I would, just to
be safe, run the top of my finger over the bottle (to avoid a full
drop) and apply with a drop of carrier oil. That's my personal
opinion!
As for the sleeping, lavender and serenity do NOT work on my girls! I
swear they get hyper instead of calm with it! I have noticed great
success with just Balance, or Balance, Vetiver, and Ylang Ylang, or
the Peaceful Child blend. My girls have been great sleepers from day
one, so I think it is totally achievable, especially for five months
old. In fact, I think 3 hours isn't enough. Just my two cents!
Oh, people will always be skeptical- we have been conditioned to
accept anything a doctor says, without question, even if it isn't best
for our health. So when it doesn't come from a doctor, and the answer
is so simple, such as an Essential Oil, people have a hard time
accepting it. Just remember, the only thing that will win them over is
a personal experience with the oils. No reasoning, explaining, or
coaxing will change their mind unless they see it for themselves. That
is the best kind of "testimony" anyway!
p.s. I am not bashing doctors, we LOVE our pediatrician. He is awesome
and we recommend him every chance we get. We also have an
anesthesiologist in our downline who we love as well. I'm just
saying!
