I had food allergies WHEAT and things with wheat (gluten)...caused my
heart rate to rise rapidly and become irregular. If I ate it daily, my
heart rate would stay elevated and irratic and was quite frightening.
I knew I felt "weird" kind of when I ate wheat and other things all my
life but no one - including doctors ever figured out the connection.
Solution was always tons of test, tons of meds and never an
explanation. Once I have gone off all allergy foods for me and even
all foods that I am sensative too. EVERYTHING has turned around
dramatically and heart rate never does crazy things :)
It's worth checking you for you all. Blessings In Christ, Andrea

While an irregular heartbeat can cause anxiety, I believe there is more to it than that. Try looking at other things like soda pop, chocolate, and other things that contain stimulants, or an unrecognized infection somewhere in the body. Over the counter medications like antihistamines can also trigger arrhythmias.

If the pulse rate stays high for any length of time, blood can collect in the chambers of the heart instead of being passed through them, the blood clots, breaks away and goes to the brain resulting in a stroke.
